STW Pleasants County Facility: Making your toughest plans happen

Globalization of the Sistersville Tank Works customer base, along with expansion of the oil and gas industry in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, require larger tanks than ever before, incorporating a broad selection of alloys and heavy fabrication demands. To meet that need, STW has invested $5 million in its new Pleasants County plant, located 30 miles south of its headquarters.

The new plant offers direct Ohio River access. It is minutes north of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport, the nearby intersection with north-south Interstate-77 and east-west U.S. Route 50. We have the capability to ship large or small nationwide.

Designed to meet the rigors of ASME Div. 2 tank production, the new facility features 40,000 square feet of fabrication area, serviced by 180-ton remotely-operated overhead cranes. Heavier equipment, designed to roll and weld much thicker material has been installed that will take advantage of improved automation. There simply is no facility like it on the east coast. The plant provides good wages for 30-40 skilled workers.

Company headquarters remain in Sistersville, where lighter tanks and heat exchangers are fabricated and modernized, engineering services are centered, field service crews are located and other key STW departments work.
